Just when you thought the UFO files were gonna be the most unexpected slice of news to pop off this year, now apparently the “family” is heading to television.

NBCUniversal officially announced that a live-action ‘Fast & Furious’ TV series is in early development for Peacock - with Vin Diesel telling anyone who will listen there’s are actually four shows being tinkered with in the garage right now.
But hey, keeping it a solid 90? We all kind of saw this coming.
You can only launch a Pontiac Fiero into orbit so many times before Hollywood asks the question, “What if we did that shit this weekly?” The Rasputin of franchises started as undercover cops lifting DVD players and somehow evolved into Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) lugging bank vault down the streets of Rio his emotional support 2010 Dodge Charger SRT-8s. So yeah, A TV show was basically destiny.

Not a ton is currently known about the project but Vinny D, who will act as the shows executive producer, says the tv series will explore legacy characters and expand the universe beyond the movies. Which hopefully means we going back to space baby!
To add to the befuddlment only one show is officially confirmed so far, but Vin rolled up to the announcement talking with the entirety of his chest like racially ambiguous Kevin Feige with unpasteurized NOS in his bloodstream to broadcast it actually be four.
Mike Daniels (Shades of Blue, Rockford Files) and Wolfe Coleman (Shades of Blue) are slated to pen the pilot and act as co-showrunners. And look, the writing in ‘Shades of Blue’ made it almost seem sad that J.Lo never copped an Emmy… allllmosst….

At this point, the Fast & Furious franchise refuses to give up the ghost. The final movie isn’t even dropping until 2028, and now we’re getting one (maybe four?) TV spin-offs. While storytelling has never really been the series forte, the idea of focusing on new characters that still hold strong ties to the OG fam opens the franchise to gain a fuck load of fresh followers while still delivering something loyal fans optimistically won’t bitch about too harshly.
The Fast & Furious TV series wont hit stream until earlest late 2028 but here’s praying there will be buttload of explosions and a cornucopia of exotic cars I will never be able to afford.
'Fast Forever (Fast & Furious 11),' is scheduled for release March 17, 2028.
Sing out if you're one of those ride or die's keeping the 'Fast & Furious' franchises rollin. Puns.
